!we need coaches!
Rec Volunteer Head Coaches who register by the May 31st deadline will receive a TCYSA Merch Discount Code before the season starts, a free coaching shirt to wear during game days and a $40 H-E-B gift card when completing a full season after the end-of-season tournament. That is a combined value equivalent to an individual player registration!

Great coaches are not born great; they develop greatly.
TCYSA relies heavily on our volunteer coaches. The reality is, if there are not enough coaches to cover the amount of teams and for us to maintain a 50% play policy, unfortunately, we may need to cut entire teams.

*Must also complete the season to qualify for $40 H-E-B Gift card.*

fun for all
a recreational league fit for both the first timer and seasoned player
Our rec league is designed to be inclusive, offering a great experience for both new players and seasoned athletes. For beginners, it provides a supportive environment to learn soccer fundamentals, build confidence, and develop skills at a comfortable pace. For more experienced players, the league offers a more relaxed and fun atmosphere that focuses on enjoyment and team camaraderie, allowing them to stay active and continue refining their skills without the pressure of competitive play.

Recreational FAQs
who will coach?
how are coaches selected?
how can i become a coach or volunteer?
U6 Coaches are strictly volunteer coaches and will be automatically assigned teams that include their own children. U8-U15 Volunteer Coaches draft their teams at the preseason draft meeting held over the summer. If no coach is available for draft, your child will be randomly assigned by a Board Member or randomized via computer while a coach is located.

Draft is finalized 1 week AFTER the draft takes place.

Guardians of players on teams with a coach and guardians of players on teams without a coach will be contacted 1 to 2 weeks AFTER the draft is finalized.
All coaches are volunteers. All coaches are required to complete a Background Check, Heads Up course, and Safe Sport course.

We are ALWAYS looking for volunteer coaches. Coaching comes with perks! If not enough coaches are found some teams may be cut and unable to play.
To register as a coach, click here. For volunteer opportunities, you can be a coach, referee, ambassador or concession stand assistant.
can i choose what team my child plays on?
There is a draft?
Yes! U8 – U14 Head Coaches will draft players at the pre-season draft meeting. If no coach is present, their team will be randomly selected by either a Board Member or randomized via computer.

Wait...how does a draft work?
Head over to our Rec Draft page for more details on the process but essentially its a way to allow head coaches the ability to build their team by selecting players to add to their team.

If a head coach is present for the draft, their team will be randomly selected by either a Board Member or randomized via computer.

Only Head Coaches can choose players during the draft. If you know a coach you may ask them before the draft but there is no guarantee your child may be selected on that team.
At this time, we are NOT accommodating requests from parents/guardians to place players on a specific team based on friendship, familial relationship (outside of being siblings in the same age group) , same school or same church. This is a good opportunity for your child to meet new friends while playing soccer!

If you are wanting your child with a specific friend or group of friends we invite you to please volunteer as a head coach so you may build your team as you like during the draft.
When will the coach contact me?
Coaches will contact the guardians of players on teams with a coach 1 to 2 weeks AFTER the draft is finalized.

The Draft Trade period will last for 48 hours, starting on the Monday after the draft. The Draft is then finalized 1 week AFTER the draft trades end.
Board Members will contact the guardians of players on teams without a coach within 1 week AFTER the draft is finalized. Please remember, this league is 100% volunteer-powered, so if a team is left without a coach, we may need to cut teams if we cannot spread them across the existing teams in order to maintain a 50% play time.
When and where are practices?
Practice locations and times are determined by the volunteer coaches for your child's team. Some practices take place at the city parks in Pleasanton, Jourdanton, or Poteet when the season begins in mid-to-late August, but the schedule can vary depending on your coach and will be determined within one week of team rosters being posted.
When and where are games?
Games are held at 900 E Adams St, Pleasanton, TX 78064. Times will be released before the start of the season but usually vary between 8am and 12pm CST.
how much does the season cost?
$85/player for the entire season. Fees cover uniforms, referees, and AAYSA registration. We offer a payment plan available in our online store as a payment voucher. We also offer discounts for multiple siblings being enrolled. Only available upon request BEFORE registration.
Does my child have to try out for a team?
Rec League does not hold tryouts. This league is a great opportunity for beginners at each age level.
Do I have to live in the tri-city area?
We accept kids outside the Tri-City area, including Charlotte, Tilden, and Alice. (These players remain together and will not be part of the draft). Contact us for more info.
when does the season start?
Practices start mid to late August, with practice schedules determined by your coach, 1-2 weeks after the draft. Games begin Saturday, September 20th, at 8:00 am with the Open Ceremony starting at 7:30 am.
How long is the season?
There are 9 weeks of regular-season games that occur every Saturday, plus one final tournament spread across two days. Most likely will be a Saturday and a possible evening game later that week on a weekday evening before the Thanksgiving break.
