Attn: Head Coaches! TCYSA is hosting its official 2025 Fall season snake-draft on Saturday, August 9th. This year, we’re implementing a new "hybrid" draft system designed to balance fairness, flexibility, and transparency while still allowing all Head Coaches the ability & power to have a say in building their own team.
 
The draft will function like all other previous years with the exception of changes to the process for no-show coaches and player trade time. We will be implementing computer randomization for teams with no coach or no-show coaches so volunteers don't need to be at the draft all day this year.

⚽ Draft Schedule & Details:
 
Who: Head Coaches of U8, U10, U12, and U14 teams
Where: 106 S Reed St Pleasanton TX 78064
Draft Times:
🕙 U8 Coaches – 10:00 AM
🕥 U10 Coaches – 10:45 AM
🕦 U12 Coaches – 11:30 AM
🕧 U14 Coaches – 12:15 PM
 
🔹 Only Head Coaches may participate in the draft. Assistant coaches or substitutes will not be permitted to participate. Players do not attend this draft.
🔹 No-show coaches will have their teams randomized and automatically assigned by computer to prevent stacking and still ensure competitive balance.
🔹 U6 teams will be fully auto-assigned via computer randomization.

✅ Automatic Assignments:
🔹All Head Coaches will have their own children placed on their team first.
🔹Siblings in the same age group will be placed on the same team.

🔄 Post-Draft Trades:
🔹Once the draft concludes, each team will have a 48-hour window starting the Monday after the draft to conduct up to two trades within the same age bracket.
 
⚽All trades must be:
 
🔹Agreed upon by both Head Coaches involved of course.
🔹Submitted in the Coach GroupMe Chat to the Commissioner of Coaches for tracking and review.
🔹If the Commissioner is unavailable, we will have a backup contact or trade log form that will be shared in advance.


⚽Post Draft Trade Period:

🔹Draft Team Rosters are finalized 1 week after the draft trading period ends.

🔹Teams with coaches will have the coaches contact guardians within 1 week after the Draft Team Rosters are finalized to set their practice schedules.

🔹Teams without a coach will have Board Members contact guardians shortly after the draft team rosters are finalized to help find a volunteer coach for teams without a coach.

🔹Reminder: TCYSA is 100% parent/guardian volunteer-powered! Volunteer Coaches make the season possible! If we can’t find a coach, teams may be combined or cut to be able to keep our 50% play time rule.
